Is Mobe a Legit Business Opportunity?

Mobe stands for “My Online Business Education”. It is the brainchild of Matt Lloyd. So the first question you should be asking is, is Mobe a Legit Business Opportunity? I have to admit but I know a lot of people who are super successful promoting Mobe.

Still with the question Is Mobe a Legit Business Opportunity?

Is Mobe a Legit Business Opportunity?

Not at all
Certainly, when I wandered over to have a look at Mobe it is certainly a slick operation.
However, a little bit of searching later revealed the fact that the business has changed names several started out as My Online Business Empire. It was also called My Top Tier Business.

It has been marketed with several different domain names. That in itself was sufficient to make me question the legitimacy of My Online Business Education.

I Mean why would anybodychange the name of a legitimate successful business? The fact that it’s changed its name more than once would suggest more than a fair share of shenanigans.

My Top Tier Business

If that doesn’t sound like a pyramid selling opportunity, what does?

What Is Pyramid Selling?

Somehow over the years, that is the last 50 years pyramid selling has become almost a legitimate business.ecause people have forgotten the scandals of the sixties that left thousands of people losing the shirts on their backs.

For those of us who were around in the 60’s, we remember the frauds that were pyramid selling. It is a business model based on fraud.

It is started by one person in this case Matt Lloyd. As far as I can tell that is the only honest presentation of the company. There is nothing to suggest that anyone else created it.

Anyway back to pyramid selling

Pyramid selling is so called, because the model looks like a pyramid. The person at the top at the apex of the pyramid is Matt Lloyd and he earns the most money.

One person creates a business model. He asks a second person to invest in this business without being clear what the business model actually is.

The second person’s investment goes directly to the first person. Nice work if you can get it!

The second person to get their investment back they must recruit more people. Let’s say they recruit 10 people. The majority of that money will go to the initial investor the guy at the top of the pyramid.

Yes you guessed it – Matt Lloyd.

Those 10 people go on to recruit 10 more people and the majority of the money goes to Matt Lloyd.

However a small amount of that money goes to the second investor.

This tier of investors then go on as third tier investors to sell this scheme. It’s not necessarily a product. However it looks good on paper.

When the third tier of investors get a fourth tier to buy into the scheme. The majority goes to Matt Lloyd, a small amount goes the second investors and a small amount goes the third tier investors.

It is designed basically to swindle people out of their hard earned savings. It is illegal and a fraud because it is not sustainable. Each investor has to pay the person directly above them in the hierarchy. They in turn have to pay the tier above them, until of course it gets to the top to the one initial invester.

As the tiers grow

each person has to recruit 10 people to get their money back.
Not everybody, can ever get their money back even if everyone in the whole world invests. The people at the bottom, the base of the pyramid are always going to lose their money because as no one else to con to invest. The pyramid implodes leaving the people at the bottom penniless and the person at the top super rich.

Does this sound harsh?

Yes it does, but it is nonetheless how pyramid selling works.

So where does the legitimacy come in?

It’s now called multilevel marketing!I’m not quite sure how changing its name gives it legitimacy. Multilevel marketing means that the person at the bottom pays their investment to the person above them. They pay an amount to the person above them until it reaches the top.

I have discussed Mobe with several of their top earners. And it is true as in all pyramid schemes that the people at the top are earning obscenely huge amounts of commissions.

It is also true that they don’t have to do anything for their money. All they have to do is encourage the downline to spend money on advertising to bring new people in.

The Target Market

Over the years I have spoken to many people who’d been sucked into My Online Business Education. It seems to be particularly popular with young Asians who come from a business/professional background.

These are the people who are perhaps third or fourth generation immigrants. Their parents and grandparents went to university and got a degree in the professions.

They may be pharmacists with their own retail business as a chemist.

The kids are looking at this role model and saying “No this is too much hard work this studying!”

The kids are looking for an alternative business model. Unfortunately, this model appeals to their parents and grandparents who are probably footing the ultimate 30K fee. It looks hard core so therefore legitimate.

Asian families have a culturally different background, In itself it shares much with the multi level. Each generation pays a whack to get someone in the family a business. This is generally nor a loan. It is paid back in thirty or forty years when that person pys to purchase a business for a child, a niece or a nephew.

None. Its a business based on pyramid selling and as such it’s not scaleable as affiliate marketing is.

Most of the information and products aren’t worth paying for in terms of information.
No real business model just selling on to create someone at hte top rich.
No actual customer or tech support as shown in Matt Lloyd’s promotional video.

The only way to Get High Ticket Commisions is to pay more and more and more

And More

So the only way to get high ticket commissions is to sell other people into the Multi Level Marketing Scheme.

I personally have paid 30k for an education with Dan Kennedy. It was worth every penny. However, Mobe is asking you to spend thirty thousand dollars without a gaurantee of earnings or seeing any returns. Again my take is nice work if you can get it.

Lots of online scams work based on the same principles as MOBE.

They appeal to greed because they appear to be too good to be true. Trust me, if something online appears too good to be true it generally is.

They suck you in with a slick web page and a low entry point – $49.00 and then as soon as you are committed they swamp you with upsells.

If you are researching to invest in an online business and you comme from a professional background, where you are used to paying premium pries for premium retail businees then I can see why this looks appealing.

Before you commit please Google online scms and pyramid schemes. There are better and cheaper alternatives.

Wealthy Affiliates has been going for over ten years. It is a life changing education. Many of the top alumni in Internet Marketing have cut their teeth in this platform. In fact many such as Travis Sago and Pot Pie girl are still members. Google them, if you don’t know who they are!

Get Smart Get Savvy

In conclusion, you don’t have to pay megabucks for a fabulous online education. You do have an alternative if your younger generations want to work online. Affilaite marketing is sustainable and scaleable. As you can see from the graph above there is a difference in the training and support for the free and paid member.

However, your grandchildren, children, nieces or nephews can stay as free members for as long as they like to see if the business model of Affiliate marketing is going to work for them. it is a business I have been a member of for ten years. There are no upsells or surprises, just an honest to goodness business education.

In the light of what we have been discussing don’t you want to give them the best possible start. The start that you had.At first glance, the MOBE platform seems to suggest that you are paying for online business training. As a result of that indepth training you begin to earn a lot of money later. It also suggests that you have a choice between any of the products. Meanwhile, the system relentlessly turns pushing you to move higher in the product chain until you find yourself parting with your savings. Ths deceitfu way of doing business is a scam, avoid it at all costs.

Profitability And Niche Selection

To misquote George Orwell, not all niches are created equally. Some are more profitable than others. Either in the short term, the long term, the holiday period, or the season. Don’t waste time going down the road of an unprofitable niche.

You need

  • Passion
  • Profit
  • Practical knowledge
  • Pain
  • PLR

What Does Passion mean in the context of affiliate marketing? It means that you are interested in your topic and can find a sustainable amount of topics to write about to prevent boredom setting in.

What Does Passion mean in the context of affiliate marketing? It means that you are interested in your topic and can find a sustainable amount of topics to write about to prevent boredom setting in.

When there is no passion thereis a problem, as I found out the the hard way. In the nineties I concluded that acne was a profitable niche and there was no real products available to sell at the time. I spent four months researching how acne could be cured by diet alone. I wrote the definitive acne cure diet, as a product. Then I came to write the web site content. After five articles I knew that it was not going to go anywhere.

I was bored and tired of the subject. I had to outsource 400+ articles and I had to get them proofread as well, I could not even be bothered to read them. Now there are people who say that you can’t outsource articles and retain control of your content.

I have never heard so mush tosh in all my life

Most people who make a permanent living online do outsource. There are several reasons for this, something just don’t float your boat interest wise, it is cheaper to outsource them than to waste your time doing them.

So yes unless you want to learn to outsource immediately then passion is a definite plus in niche selection I can tell you because I learned the hard way that it is better to do it yourself and learn exactly the system for your business before you outsource anything!

To be fair most niches that exist in the real world also exist online or digitally.Sometimes a target market or demographic are not always conducive to business (If you don’t know the difference between these two read here ) For instance the crochet patters for tea  pot covers may not be a great niche, but hey it would not be in the real world.

What you need is a hungry market

The late great Gary Halbert was renowned as one of the best salesman of his time if not ever. When teaching a class one day he asked his students what advantage they would want from him, if the two of them were in competition to make the most hamburger sales. The answers were varies

“superior meat”

“better price”
“cheaper price”

Eventually Mr Halbert could stand it no longer and he burst out that his advantage would bet them all, hands down every time.

His answer was a hungry market!

So how do you find out if it is a hungry market?

To have a hungry market it must be an evergreen niche that always has people wanting to solve problems. If Amazon has a book written about it,  or it is a magazine on your local new stand then there is already an established market.

Another niche generating method is to look through the categories of the following websites:

Head over to Amazon’s Book Department and scroll down the left side until you see all the different categories to choose from. If you see something that interests you write it down then click on it and on the next page there will be a list of even more related categories that you may be interested in.

While you’re browsing through the categories make sure to take a look at the books associated with what you’re currently looking at. Just reading the titles will give you a good

Understand the problems in the niche.

While you have a category selected type in “how to” in the search box at the top and hit enter. What you’ll find is a bunch of books solving popular problems in that niche. This is also usually where the money is in that niche.

Another good use of this trick is doing it without a category selected. While you’re in the books homepage of Amazon type in “how to” again and browse through the vast amount of books solving people’s problems. This will especially help you if you’re having troubles finding a niche you’re interested in.

You may wan to create the world’s best SEO site, but you don’t know anything about SEO. Well all I can say is you are too old to believe in fairies! i am not saying don’t dream big, if that is your aim, put it on the back burner.

Get two sites up and running and earning a $100 a day each and then outsource your dream.

However, for the moment let’s get back to the real world. You need to be able to have the interest to research what you need to know. It does not mean that you have to be an authority to start, just enough interest to be able to know where to get the information you need.

If you are not sure then go here to find outhow to become an authority The video is about half an hour, but it is the only research resource you will ever need.

So you need practicality, because if it is not achievable then you are setting yourself up for failure before you start, if you cannot isolate and engage your target audience you will never make a sale

The pain in terms of niche selection should not be yours it should be the pain of others. Search through your niches forums, blogs, amazon reviews for information related to your ideal customer.

You’re looking for the lingo they use, common problems, questions, any products/websites they’ve used for help. What are their current and long term problems?

build a profile of your perfect customer.

This allows you to talk to your customer in a more conversational way , you understand their pain and frustrations, and therefore they will trust you more and spend money, If you can push their buttons or empathise with them on an emotional level then you’ve made selling to them infinitely easier.

Here you will simply jot down all the pain points, wants, needs, desires, fears, etc… that you found out about your ideal customer while doing your detective work in the previous step.

So as an example if you were in the affiliate marketing niche it could look

something like this:

Tired of working for someone else *

Wants to travel *

Want to stop commuting to work*

Wants to spoil their family *

Want fiscal freedom *

Is afraid of being stuck at a dead end job for the rest of their life *

Struggling with information overload *

Isn’t sure if this stuff really works *

Afraid of being scammed *

use this profile to reflect your understanding of someone’s problems because people almost never buy because they need something, they buy because they want something, or at least think that they do.

Tap into this pain and you have succeeded.

PLR products

Niche selection should include the availabilty of PLR. No I am not suggesting you use them per se but they are an indication of how profitable and viable the niche is.

PLR means Private Label Rights. If you purchase an original article it may cost you upwards of $20 to pay for one that earns you money. PLR is when someone like me writes fifty articles on say peanut allergy and then sells that to a hundred people for less than $10.

There are a lot of people out there who find writing or coomunication very difficult. PLR is a fantastic way to get together an ebook you can re brand as a video or other content. Used intelligently it is a fantastic resource or research tool .

If there are already people writing PLR in your niche then it is a popular niche. However if they are not then you can write your own PLR and create your own product.

How Much Do You Want To Give Up Your Job?

To give up your job, that’s got to be the objective for everyone who starts Internet marketing. If that’s the case, why is it that 98.99 percent of people fail. But, as they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. What happens between the point someone decides they want to be an Internet marketer and the point they fail?

I have been around six and seven figure Internet marketers for over 20 years. During that time I have watched how they work and been lucky enough to be able to analyse why they are successful. My guess, is that the answer to their success might well surprise you!

Successful Internet marketers do not have any qualities that you don’t have. They are not supersmart. Many of them are not even of average intelligence. However, they All have one thing in common.
Give Up Your JobThere is not a daydreamer amongst them! They are all action takers.

They are not afraid to fail

Successful people understand all too well that failure is part of the learning curve. If you want to give up your job it will be necessary that you re-educate your brain to think differently. For sure, perfectionists find it harder to succeed as an Internet marketer.

The reason being there is no such thing as a perfect product or a perfect website. Fortunately, it’s not necessary to have either. Many years ago, my great friend and mentor, Sarah Staarknew a lady, who was developing the next greatest product. She spent a year developing product, maybe more. It was never released!

Despite the fact that we often asked how she was coming along, she kept replying it’s not perfect yet! Eventually after about 18 months we really pressed her. She kept replying I have to keep adding things. Both of us kept saying “Why?” .That’s what updates and version 2’s are for.

However, you look at it she was frightened to release it.It also meant she wasted nearly 2 years of her time. Failure was inevitable because she did nothing to make that product become a product to sell. What a waste of time and effort.

Do you want to give up your job? Make it happen

All she had to do was release that product in beta. She could have told all the people that bought it, that it was in development and there will be updates. That is if she wanted to hang onto her perfectionism. She could have prepared them that the product wasn’t entirely finished.

Better yet, she could have had a major mindset shift, and ditched the Perfectionism. To be successful as an Internet marketer you just have to be sensible enough to follow successful people. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. The result is not going to be as significant as the Sistine Chapel.

When you are following successful people it’s important to have the right person to be a mentor. Sadly, many Internet marketers teach what they don’t practice in their everyday businesses. Sarah Staar is an exception. She only teaches what she does in her business on a day-to-day basis.

That means as lots of things she doesn’t know about! She doesn’t use SEO, so she doesn’t teach it. Sarah is a pragmatist. She knows there’s many other things she could do to increase her profitability. For instance, she could use Pinterest to drive traffic to her offers. She probably realises this would be successful, but takes a pragmatist view that she is already earning seven figures a year. Why should she embark on another learning curve.

If you want to give up your job, then follow someone who has
A.Given up their job
B.Teaches what they actually do.

You Probably Need A Change of Mindset

Dreaming about being successful is not going to make it happen! You need to make it happen. It will be your actions that will drive you forward to success.Success is not handed to you on a plate.

Being self-employed is quite different from working for someone else. When you work for someone else you are paid a salary at the end of the month. This has no relationship to the amount of effort and work you put in.

This is not the same when you are self-employed. When you are self-employed you have to drive profit ourself.

Take Responsibility For Your Own Actions

This single factor alone can be quite difficult to get your head round if you’re coming from the corporate world. When you work for the people it’s very easy to blame. You can say it wasn’t my fault. That luxury is not available to you when you are self-employed. The chances are when you start, it will just be you and your business. There will be no opportunity to blame anyone else.

That’s one of the downsides. The upside of this, is that you don’t have to share the profits either. Everything you earn after you pay taxes is yours. On the other hand, you don’t have a guaranteed income.

It’s one of the reasons why self-employed people have so many taxbreaks. They are businessmen, and entrepreneurs and they take a risk. It’s not for the fainthearted.

You also have to be Realistic

Success  is not going to come to you overnight. There is a learning curve especially if you are a beginner. It’s a bit like your first day in a new job. At the end of the day you come home with a excruciating headache. You are confused. Who to ask? What to ask? You have no idea who to trust and whether the person you are asking the question actually knows the answer. Where is the bathroom? Where is the best coffee shop? All in all, you wonder what you’re doing and why.

Two weeks into the job and the situation is totally different. You have learnt the systems that operate and drive that company. You have begun to make friends and interact.Everything seems so much clearer.

That’s a bit like Internet marketing. I first it is confusing, for some it can be overwhelming. You need to step back from it. The best thing to do is learn a little thing and immediately put that thing into action.

If you can’t actually put it into action then you know you don’t understand it. Then you ask someone who does know. The secret to learning Internet marketing is to learn and take action at the same time.

Don’t be confused you are either learning or earning. You can’t do both at the same time. However you can use somebody else’s systems and put them into place until you are earning.

I’m Not An Expert Internet Marketer-Help

One piece of advice I constantly hear being bandied around regarding niche selection is you should choose something you are passionate about. For me, that is totally wrong not all niches are equal. You can be passionate about crocheting but it may not make you a lot of money. It doesn’t matter whether you are an expert or I’m not an expert.

A niche is a group of people who want to buy stuff.

Internet marketing is a numbers game. The more people you can reach and connect with the more people who are likely to buy from you. So the bigger the pool you are fishing from the more fish you are going to catch.

So where does passion come in? For me, it doesn’t! The theory is that if you are are interested or passionate about your niche than you can write a lot about it. In my experience, this is simply not so. Most newbie marketers when they start find writing a challenge. It is a skill that gets easier with practice (what doesn’t).

I’m Not An Expert Internet Marketer

Start Thinking Outside the Box

You cannot appear to be an expert if you’re not.You won’t fool anyone. However, there are ways round this. You can create a diary, a website diary about your experiences during learning and researching your subject.

You can practice writing on the job. Givle youself a cnance to hone  your skills as you go along. You literally learn on the job. This means that anybody including you can create a profitable website about anything.

Define an expert

An expert in Internet marketing fields is a person who knows a little bit more than the average Joe.So how long does it take to become an expert? If you spend 10 days researching your topic for just one hour a day you will know more than most people.

There’s just imagine your niche is dogs

Carving out a Business in the Dog Niche

Let’s say you don’t even have a dog. You don’t know anyone who has a dog. However during the course of the week you go jogging in the park three times. During that time you see people throwing balls at dogs.

So you know dogs like to play with balls. That’s the start of a review article. Toys for dogs!

You have to remember that when you start people are just looking for everyday tips about dogs! They’re not looking for an Encyclopaedia Britannica type book about dog breeding. Fortunately most people aren’t interested in the evolution of dogs from wolves. They are just interested in how to keep their dog happy basically.

Tackle Simple Questions

So start by tackling the simplest things. The sort of stuff newbies would look for. Like
How much room do you need to keep a dog?
What do dogs eat?
Can I keep a dog in A flat?
Are dogs carnivores?

These are not Complicated questions. It should take you round about the morning to research the information and about two hours to rewrite it into an 800 word article. As you researching this, your knowledge is growing and you will come across other topics to write about.

During the course of your research

Suddenly your Outlook expands. More ideas coming to your vision

Can you travel on an aeroplane with dogs?
Do dogs need vaccinations?
Can I breed from my dog?

A successful website will answer all the problems that crop up in that niche. It does seem daunting at first to find out what all the problems are. It’s really not. Forums are a great place to get to know people who hang out in that niche. There are also a really good training ground for problems. People ask questions in forums. These are the questions that are the basics the structured base for your niche.

Don’t start wondering why anybody would want to read your website. You may well be wondering how you can ever get as much information as Wikipedia. The answer is you don’t have to. You are talking to people as you would talk to your best friend. On the other hand you are trusted.

Create Relaxed Convos

As you write I want you to imagine that you’re leaning on the door post in the kitchen with a beer in your hand. You are talking to your best friend about dogs. I want you to write using that same friendly relaxed tone.

That way you come across as a guy that can be trusted.

This is What you are striving for as an internet marketer!

Most of your readers are looking for a professional slick site like Wikipedia. People want down-to-earth honest and simple information. They want to get to know you as a person. It could be that the answers that they seek are written in very complicated tone of voice. Your reader wants to read Joe blogs version.

Change the way you look at your knowledge

Yes it is true, the guy in the pet shop probably knows more than you about dogs. But, the guy in the pet shop can only talk to about 200 people a day. With a blog you can talk to thousands. You are appealing to the thousands of people who know less than you do about dogs. You come across as a friendly approachable guy.Suddenly once you have a website you can reach everyone.

Raid Your Competitors sites.

Whoa there Tiger I’m not suggesting that you plagiarise somebody else’s articles. What I am suggesting is that you read authority read websites and jot down ideas about the problems in your niche.

You just need to grab the problem and write it down
If milk poisonous for puppies?
What to feed a puppy?

How to wash a dog?

Now I’m not an expert but one question leads on to another. How to wash your dog needs onto how to groom a dog? That’s a whole new sub niche in itself with loads of things to sell.

Suddenly before too many articles have been written. The phrase I’m not an expert becomes I am an expert, because suddenly the ideas begin to expand. One thing leads to another quite naturally when you start blogging.

Did you start out as a newbie then learn a lot about your niche?

Are you worried that you don’t know enough to have a good website?

Let me know in the comments!
